Sorry about being MIA for a while now. Lately, I’ve had a lot on my plate and somehow the work just doesn’t stop at this time of year. This Friday, I will be seeing Spider-man 3 and a film at the Tribeca Film Festival called The Poughkeepsie Tapes. Stay tuned for these two flicks reviewed!
In the meantime, take a look at The Poughkeepsie Tapes trailer. The film looks quite fantastic and really creepy.
Finally, some random suggestions: After having experienced some cool Japanese cinema in the last few months, I’d like to recommend two films that I personally really enjoyed…
1. The Sword of Doom (imdb) A sociopathic samurai who kills without remorse and must be stopped. This film glorifies swordplay and reaffirms my fascination with samurai and swordsmen.

2. Battles without Honor and Humanity (imdb) This is the modern yakuza gangster film of Japan by Kinji Fukusaku (director of Battle Royale). This movie is part one of five and definitely necessary viewing if you’re into yakuza flicks. Think Japanese Godfather.
Well, now it’s back to the grind. Check out some of the above mentioned movies if you ever get a chance.

[…] Ryan over at popcorn, soda and goobers posted a link to a trailer for The Poughkeepsie Tapes. Curious, I took a peek at the trailer and now I doubt I should have. […]

I had the same response. I hope the film is as good as the unsettling trailer!

That trailer was pretty disturbing. At first I even thought it might be a documentary. I’m sure there will be a lot of stories floating around that this movie is a completely true story, but that’s definitely not the case.

FearScene - Yeah, the trailer really did it for me. Although I wasn’t a fan of Blair Witch, this one looks like it is really creepy. I googled it, and yeah I’m pretty sure it’s not true.
