While The Breakfast Club is timeless and probably my favorite “school movie,” Wes Anderson’s Rushmore is a highly memorable school-set flick, and it was the first that came to my mind when I thought of a “school setting.” An immature Jason Schwartzman steps onto screen and the fun begins. On academic probation, Max (Schwartzman) struggles with growing up and crushes over a grade school teacher. Awkwardness, quip dialogue, and comic strangeness mark this bizarre yet charming little flick.
Max: “I like your nurse’s uniform, guy.”
Dr. Flynn: “These are O.R. scrubs.”
Max: “O, R they?”
Today’s the deadline for this week’s Flick4Friday prompt. Make sure to check every Friday night for a new prompt! I encourage you all to participate. It’s fun and who knows maybe you’ll find someone who shares your movie taste.
