What’s the best movie with a sequel? How did we come up with such a broad question this time? In order to answer such a question, I shall pose two answers to the question.

There a lot of good movies with sequels (often poor ones). The Matrix was great - and it has had some lackluster follow ups. However, there are fewer movies with sequels that surpass their predecessors. The Empire Strikes Back is clearly beats out the original Star Wars in my eyes. Empire involved more drama between Han Solo and the princess, and of the early trilogy, this was the darker, tragic episode with great space chases. Secrets are revealed in the end, and all in all Empire stands as the best of the series.

Going back to the alien movie posting, Aliens is another sequel that, to me, outdoes its predecessor. Twisting the sci-fi horror genre of Alien into an all out action war flick, Aliens is more exciting, more violent, and more fun. Again, I wholeheartedly re-suggest this flick. See it now!

I also wholeheartedly suggest heading on over to Flick4Friday and participating in our weekly movie meme. It’s fun and a great place to pick up some cool movie picks. If we get enough participants, we may start giving out prizes! Keep your fingers crossed.
