The new trailer for The Dark Knight is out. It was first shown this past weekend as a preview before showings of I Am Legend. There were a few cell phone videos of the trailer, but it’s finally formally been released. For those of you who have been living under a rock or on a deserted island or in Djibouti for the past few years, The Dark Knight is the sequel to 2005’s sexy revamping of the Batman series, Batman Begins. Everyone from the old movie (except for Katie Holmes, who has been replaced by Maggie Gyllenhaal) is back and have been working hard to bring us what will undoubtedly be the best comic book movie ever (sorry, X2, A History of Violence, and Underdog). The trailer looks great, if not explosion-tastic. All the better. I, for one, am excited to see Heath Ledger play a homicidal Tom Cruise Joker, crazy and sadistic. At first, I thought Adrien Brody would be a better choice as the Joker, but I think Heath will pull it off. As a longtime fan of Batman comics, I am psyched. I have already started camping out in front of the movie theater. I’m writing this post from my cell phone and dressed up in my favorite (and only) Batman costume. It’s from when I was five, and it totally doesn’t cover my boys, but hey, “I’m Batman.”
