Welcome to Flick4Friday

What is Flick4Friday?
It’s a movie meme!

What’s a meme?
Traditionally, an internet meme is any kind of viral information like a funny video or a particularly cool blog post. In the blogosphere, it’s come to define those websites that propose prompts to inspire other bloggers (like photofriday). Hopefully, the responses to each prompt create even more inspiration for further blogging fun.

Your favorite on-screen Batman

July 18th, 2008 by Ryan

Are you psyched? I know I am. Batman: the Dark Knight! WOO! Anyways, this meme goes for all on-screen versions of Batman including those terrific cartoon versions you used to watch after school on the (now-defunct) WB.

What’s the best road trip movie?

June 27th, 2008 by Ryan

Currently blogging during a cross-country road trip. Give me a few ideas for a road trip movie. Something inspirational for road trippers or maybe just a good movie to watch on a portable DVD player while (not) driving.

Movies to cure a case of the Mondays.

June 20th, 2008 by Ryan

Oh dear, I’m about to start my full time job. Give me a good one to lift my spirits and make me feel a little better about my cubicle.

Emergency Flick4Friday

June 16th, 2008 by Ryan

Just got back from a trip. It’s passed Friday. But, let’s get things rolling again! Give us your go-to flick when you just need to throw a DVD on and don’t have time to get a rental or go out to the theater. You know, the kind of movie you put on in the background because nothing is good on TV or because a bunch of friends came over unannounced.

Best Foreign Flick

April 25th, 2008 by Ryan

It’s never a bad thing to try to broaden our horizons. Give us a cool foreign language film to watch as we cozy up on the couch next week.

Best food-related movie/scene

April 18th, 2008 by Ryan

E.T. (Reese’s Pieces)? Ratatouille (Anything “gourmet”)? Mystic Pizza (Mystic Pizza)? Think about a food that you connect to your movie going experience and write about it! And, no, don’t be boring and say “Popcorn” and write about any movie you want.

Fandango Prompt: Imagine a ridiculous sequel

April 11th, 2008 by Ryan

As mentioned on Popcorn, Soda, and Goobers, Fandango is running a little contest on their blog and we’d like to join in and spread the word. (Hey, that’s the idea of a meme!) So, if you’ve already submitted to Fandango or not, leave us a comment or a trackback with your answer to this prompt, “Submit your ideas for silly sequels.

After you’ve fleshed out the idea for Flick4Friday, don’t forget to post on Fandango to be entered to win movie tickets for the entire summer. Their contest ends April 16th. Ours goes till the 17th. And, on the 18th, there will be another Flick4Friday… granted the prize might not be as cool…

Breakup movie?

April 4th, 2008 by Ryan

In honor of Forgetting Sarah Marshall which is opening April 18th, let’s talk about breakup movies. What do you watch to get you back on your feet?

————
Edit 2:27PM: Apologies for the mistake. Apparently, Forgetting Sarah Mashall will not be opening for another two weeks! Ooops!

It’s got potential, but it’s too long.

March 31st, 2008 by Ryan

I got this idea after seeing a test screening of Adventureland. It’s quite funny, but probably could serve to be edited down from its 2 hour first cut. The prompt is to write about a movie that could use some editing down. It can be good by itself, or maybe it just has the potential to be good.
