What is Flick4Friday?
It’s a movie meme!

What’s a meme?
Traditionally, an internet meme is any kind of viral information like a funny video or a particularly cool blog post. In the blogosphere, it’s come to define those websites that propose prompts to inspire other bloggers (like photofriday). Hopefully, the responses to each prompt create even more inspiration for further blogging fun.

How does it work?
Every Friday, we’ll post a prompt (the “meme”) for you to blog about. After you blog, feel free to link to it here either through a comment with a link to your blog post (make sure its the permalink) or through a Trackback or Pingback. On the following Wednesday night (or Thursday morning at the latest), we’ll post the five most notable responses to each week’s meme.

What’s the catch?
Well, we’re adding a little twist to the whole meme thing. Here, you’ll be asked to include a movie recommendation based on each week’s meme! Also, we’re going to up the ante by making it a little bit of a competition.

Each Wednesday, we’ll post the most notable responses to the previous Friday’s prompt. It’s our way of giving a little extra recognition to those great movie bloggers out there. And, it’ll give you a chance to check out what other bloggers are recommending. While you’re waiting for us to post a new meme, peruse each week’s highlights and, if you’re lucky, you might find an interesting flick to check out for Friday! (get it?)

How do I get linked?
Free link backs in the Response area of each post not enough for you? Well, we’d be happy to add you to our blogroll if your site is relevant - i.e. about movies or about something movie lovers would be interested in. To cut down on all the fan mail, we’ve decided to add links to sites which get our attention. How do you get our attention? Well, we’ll be watching referrers to our site. If your site refers us often (like 5 days in a row), you’ll get a link back. We’ll also be keeping track of notable responses. If you post really great responses with fun recommendations regularly, you’ll get a link back. It’s not so hard. You just gotta play the game!
