Hey Ryan
I’m going to interpret your topic as the first movie that I can remember the overall experience. In order to do that I have to kick it back to 1983 when I was all of 5 years old. The movie was RETURN OF THE JEDI. I know I had seen STAR WARS by this point, and I think I saw EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, but I can’t say for certain…. what I do know is that I loved the Star Wars universe and man did I have a crush on Princess Leia in that little brass-bra number.
I was in a movie theatre with my parents. Back then if you were a little guy and you didn’t have stadium seating to give you a clear view. I had to move around and switch seats so I could get the full affect. My parents whisper the Jabba screen translations to me (at 5 who can keep up with subtitles). That year for Halloween I was an Ewok; my mom sewed the costume. I got a bunch of cool RotJ toys for Christmas including the Ewok Village. I think its still in my Grandma’s basement with the rest of my chewed up, half broken Star Wars action figures. But anyway life was good.
I would no longer say that Star Wars hits me like it used to. I still saw the pre-quels in theatres but I don’t own a single on DVD (that may change down the line). It still has a hint of that old magic but I’ve cut myself off from the other uber obsessed fans who are still trying to rekindle that same experience I had at the tender age of 5. Good luck!

Short and sweet this week. I’ve been real busy at work and the site was down for a bit - quite frustrating.
