Back to School Special
Here’s an idea for Friday night. Head out to the mall, hit up your favorite back to school specials at J. Crew or American Eagle or where ever it is you outfit yourself. Then, grab one of these flicks recommended by your fellow bloggers and get psyched for another fall of angst, detention, and homework! Hmm, I think most of the readers and writers aren’t in high school anymore so maybe just sit back and try to remember the good old days when the world was divided into jocks, cool asians, nerdy asians, and drama kids. Ah, such a simpler world we lived in.
In other news, snce we got a decent number of responses this week, we’ve decided just to post the TOP 3! So, extra props to the notables this week. You made the top 3 (out of 4)! So, without further ado, your notables for this week.
- Superblogger, Linda, takes us all the way back to middle school with School of Rock. Is it really an inspirational film for teachers?
- New participant, Terminally Cute, just can’t get enough of Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Will the 80s never leave us?
- Christine over at MovieSnobs.net graces us with her response once again. And, she just can’t get enough of the school movies. She’s got 8! Headlining the list, the teen angst movie to start them all, The Breakfast Club.
And, I posted my own two cents on the topic earlier opting for Rushmore over The Breakfast Club. It was a tough decision, though props to Christine forgiving it the top slot in her rankings.
If you’ve been lurking and write your own blog (or even if you don’t write your own blog), we encourage you to respond to the next prompt which will be posted Friday night! Hey, you could be one of next weeks notables! A truly prestigious distinction. And, if you’re looking to add any of these movies to your collection, check out the Flick4Friday Notable DVD Store (it’s in the sidebar ->). We’ve organized all of your fellow blogger’s picks so you don’t have to do any searching! *Ron Popeil Alert* This week’s notables are particularly enticing as almost all of them are selling for under 10 bucks.
